FONA International introduces two new Certified Flavor Chemists and new Apprentice Member of the Society of Flavor Chemists

FONA is proud to announce Jody Emmel and Lindsay Mahon have achieved the title Certified Flavor Chemist and Marissa Piazza earned the title Apprentice Member of The Society of Flavor Chemists. They successfully completed their Society of Flavor Chemists exams on December 1.


Jody has worked with the confections and savory teams creating flavors since 1999. He also has experience running reactors and spray dryers in our pilot plant, where he worked while completing his B.S. in business administration from Columbia College. Lindsay began working at FONA in 2002 as a Compounding Technician and now develops flavors as a member of the confections business unit. She holds a degree from Kaplan University.


Marissa joined FONA in 2009 after working four and a half years in flavor development for a flavor and fragrance company. She also works with the confections team, helping to develop flavors for our customers. She holds a B.S. in biology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, and is an active member in Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce.
