Overnight Oatmeal
August 9, 2013There’s been a huge buzz about overnight, cold oatmeal. It’s very simple and tastes so refreshing now that the weather is warm. I never feel like eating hot oatmeal in the summertime – it’s more a wintertime breakfast to warm me up. Here’s how you make overnight, cold oatmeal:
You combine the oats and milk or water together and cover it and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. And in the morning your oatmeal is ready! You can add anything you want to it, like fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, cinnamon, sugar, honey, vanilla… anything! It’s so convenient in the morning to have it ready to go when you wake up. And it’s a great way to experiment with different flavor combinations. You can add cinnamon and dried cranberries, or bananas, honey and walnuts, or raspberries, peaches and vanilla. There are so many options and you can have something different every day without taking up a lot of time in the morning. Give it a try!
